Terms
These terms cover your use of Words at Home at wordsathome.com. Using the service means you accept them.
Who may use it
The person who holds an account must be 18 or over. The person practising may be of any age, supported by the household. By creating a household you confirm you may act for the person practising in this way, and that you will respect their wishes about being recorded.
Your content stays yours
The photos, recordings, words, and notes you add belong to you. We claim no ownership of them. We store and process them only to run the service for your household, as described in the privacy page. You can export your practice history and delete anything, including the entire household, at any time.
Recording other people
Only record someone who agrees to it. Ask the person practising in a way they can understand, and stop if they decline. Some places require the consent of everyone recorded. Meeting those rules is your responsibility.
Using it sensibly
- Do not upload content you have no right to use.
- Do not use the service to harass, deceive, or harm anyone.
- Do not try to reach another household's data, break the service, or work around its limits.
- Do not resell the service or present it as your own.
Accounts and access
Keep your sign-in link and your devices to yourself. Anyone who can open a paired tablet can practise in that household, which is the point of pairing, so unpair a device you no longer control. An administrator may remove members or revoke devices.
Availability
The service is offered as it is, without a guarantee of uptime. It may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued. Keep your own copy of anything you would be upset to lose; the export and the original photos on your phone are the sensible backup.
No warranty
To the extent the law allows, the service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Speech checking in particular is imperfect: it can score a clear attempt as unclear, or the reverse, and it has not been validated for any clinical use.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for any decision taken about care on the basis of what the app shows. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Ending it
You may stop at any time and delete your household. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken, or if we stop offering the service; where we can, we will give notice so you can export first.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect.
